A list with all the scientific names of the organism and their corresponding common name in English has been added on the help page.
A Perl script for calculating the Pearson correlation between two tandem mass spectra has also been added on the download page.

Tandem mass spectra of more than 200 endogenous peptides have been added to the SwePep database. This have been done by using GPMDB.

To accomplish more specific and sensitive identification of endogenous peptides, sequence collections (FASTA files) have been created using the SwePep database. Three different sequence collections have been used in a study called: “Neuropeptidomics: Strategies for specific and sensitive identification of endogenous peptides” these sequence are possible to download. Currently the sequence collections only contain peptides and precursor information derived from mouse, but if you are interested in some other species, please contact us.

The paper "SwePep, a database designed for endogenous peptides and mass spectrometry." has been accepted for publication in Molecular & Cellular Proteomics . Please use this as a reference to the SwePep database.

SwePep has been updated with new data from UniProt (release 49.0) and with peptides found experimentally in our laboratory. The user interface has also been updated and is now more peptide oriented.
We have also started to add tandem MS data to SwePep, this is a work in progress.
